The Building Project

Brazil Trip 2002

2 Corinthians 5:1

…we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

We were able to build a house for a Brazilian family who work with the Javaé Indians.  It was a terrific opportunity to help others and we had a good time working together on the project.  The walls were up, so we put in a concrete ceiling and a tile roof.

Alan put in a beam for the ceiling.

Tiffany handed ceiling tile to the next person.

Amy took the tile and put it in place.

We're proud of the good job!!!

Susan & Rebekah got gravel for mixing concrete.

Amanda got the sand.

Andrew put it into the mixer.

Micah wheeled it to the next location.

It was relayed to the top in buckets.

Then it was taken across the ceiling and poured.

Another job well done!!!!

Reinhart & Micah caught bricks for making the walls higher.

Anne & Keyla screened the mortar.

Andrew lined up the wall.

Michael went for more building material.

The local supply truck delivered the rafters.

The rafters are up!!

Then we passed up the roof tile.

Kim & Micah gave it to Alan.

Alan took it to Amy. She placed it.

Micah & Rodney were working on the other side.

All done!!

Of course, there was a lot more work that went into the job than you can see here...and a lot more people involved.  Maybe YOU can help on the next project!!!
